Spurs in £23m Nice attacker bid

talkSPORT say we have made a formal offer for Nice attacker Alassane Plea.

We had reported Plea, 25, has been  linked with a move to Spurs earlier this week, though German side Borussia Monchengladbach were also named as suitors of his.

However Spurs look to have pressed forward with their interest to get ahead in the race for Plea, with sport publication RMC claiming the we have submitted a formal bid worth around £23million (€26m) to Nice for Plea.

The striker capped at Under-21 level by France, hit the net 16 times in 35 Ligue 1 games last term.

He has scored 44 goals in 135 appearances for the French Riviera club, racking up 23 assists and helping them qualify for the 2017/18 Champions League – the first time Nice made it to the European Cup in 57 years.

Spurs are again on the lookout for an able deputy for Harry Kane following the relatively poor returns from Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente.
