REPORTS suggest that Tottenham may have made a late offer for Paraguayan defender Paulo da Silva.
The 29-year-old had been set to join Sunderland, but he is now waiting to hear about the offer from the other Premiership team.
Da Silva is available on a free transfer after his contact at Toluca expired.
“I have been offered a three-year contract with a team you already know about – Sunderland – but I’m now waiting on an offer from another English team,” said Da Silva.
“I’m sure in the next few days I will know who I’m going to sign for.
“I have to stop off in Paraguay to solve some visa problems, then I will meet with people in England to see what is the best thing for me.”
