Team News: Postecoglou provides injury update on Pape Matar Sarr ahead of West Ham

Ange Postecoglou has provided a Tottenham Hotspur team news update ahead of Sunday’s match against Manchester City during this afternoon’s press conference at Hotspur Way.

Tottenham ended a run of three defeats in a row on Sunday when they showed grit and determination to grind out a 3-3 draw at the home of Premier League champions Manchester City courtesy of Dejan Kulusevski‘s late header.

Postecolou continues to be without a number of his key players with James Maddison, Micky van de Ven, Ivan Perisic, Ryan Sessegnon and Manor Solomon all still not ready to return, however, the Australian is boosted by the availability of Cristian Romero after the defender served his three-match ban following his dismissal against Chelsea.

Spurs injury news vs West Ham

The Hammers always relish a trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for their ‘cup final’ fixture of the season and come into the derby in ninth place in the table, just six points behind their bitter rivals.

Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs squad ahead of the clash against David Moyes’ side.

Postecoglou told Tottenham’s official X channel that Pape Matar Sarr will likely be unavailable for the West Ham game, but should be back in time for Sunday’s fixture against Newcastle.

He said: “Probably tomorrow might be a bit too quick for him [Pape Matar Sarr] but certainly should be available for Sunday.”

Apart from the other long-term injuries, everyone else got through the Man City game okay, while Richarlison could be ready for a few more minutes. Eric Dier continues to struggle with a groin issue.
