Spurs learn who they will face in Carabao Cup semi-final

The semi-final draw of the Carabao Cup has taken place just moments ago and will see Tottenham Hotspur face Chelsea for a place in the final.

The draw came after the North Londoners beat West Ham United 2-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium courtesy of goals from Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura.

The two-legged semi-finals are due to take place during the weeks commencing 3 and 10 January with the final at Wembley Stadium taking place on Sunday 27 February 2022.

Last season, the semi-finals were cut to just single-leg ties due to fixture congestion caused by the pandemic.

Tottenham made it to the final of last season’s competition, where they were beaten 1-0 by Manchester City in the Wembley showpiece.

In the other semi-final, Arsenal will take on Liverpool.

After the disappointment of the Europa Conference League exit, it is great to see Spurs seal their place in the last four of the Carabao Cup and hopefully end our long wait for a piece of competitive silverware.
