Spurs learn who they will face in the Europa Conference League play-offs

Tottenham Hotspur have learned who they will face in the draw for the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League play-offs.

The North Londoners enter the competition at the final qualifying round after finishing seventh in the Premier League.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side will take on either Pacos de Ferreira (Portugal) or Larne (Northern Ireland) to decide who goes into the group stage, and will be played over two legs on 19 and 26 August.

Tottenham will not discover their exact opponent until after the third qualifying round has come to a conclusion on Thursday, August 12.

The sides which Spurs could have potentially faced were the winner of CSKA Sofia vs NK Osijek, Pacos de Ferreira vs Larne, Bredablik vs Aberdeen or FK Cukaricki vs Hammarby.

Europa Conference League matches will be played on Thursday nights alongside the Europa League.

UEFA split the teams down into mini groups ahead of the draw, reducing the number of sides who could be paired together

The teams were drawn into 22 ties with the winners advancing to the group stage along with the ten teams eliminated in the UEFA Europa League play-offs.

Having played in the Champions League and Europa League in recent seasons, the vast majority of the squad have European and international football experience.
