Graham Roberts believes Tottenham Hotspur could do with bringing in two new central defenders in January.
Tottenham’s backline, which was extremely leaky under Nuno Espirito Santo, has improved substantially since Antonio Conte arrived at the club.
The North Londoners have only conceded once in their four Premier League games under the Italian, having won three of them and drawn the other.
Conte seemed to have settled on a back three of Eric Dier, Ben Davies and Cristian Romero in his first couple of weeks.
However, the injury to the Argentine has given Davinson Sanchez a lifeline, with the Colombian helping the Lilywhites to keep two back-to-back clean sheets against Brentford and Norwich.
Despite this, Spurs continue to be linked with several centre-backs, including the likes of Juventus’ Matthijs de Ligt, Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar and Torino’s Gleison Bremer, among others.
Roberts believes Conte needs two defensive additions next month following the injury to Romero.
The former Spurs centre-back told GiveMeSport: “You’ve got de Vrij as well. You’ve got Skriniar.
“I’m sure they’ve got three in mind and if they get two of them, that would be absolutely fantastic.”

Unless one of Rodon and Sanchez depart Spurs in January (which remains a possibility), I do not expect us to sign more than one central defender.
I do not think the club will react in a kneejerk manner to Romero’s injury by moving for another centre-back next month.
