Spurs legend calls for fans to create an atmosphere at new stadium

Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Graham Roberts has taken to Twitter with the club just days away from moving into their new 62,062 capacity seater stadium.

Spurs will hold two test events this month in order to gain a safety certificate before the club can officially open the stadium for full capacity, competitive football matches.

The visit of Crystal Palace on Wednesday April 3rd will be the first time a Premier League match will be played at the new ground and Roberts has called for fans to recreate the famous White Hart Lane atmosphere.

Tottenham’s former home was known for its noise generated by the home supporters and it is hoped that this will be migrated to the new stadium, where the single-tier 17,500 capacity south stand is designed to create a wall of sound.

Spurs are scheduled to play the following first-team fixtures at the new stadium this season.

Crystal Palace (PL)
Man City (CL)
Huddersfield Town (PL)
Brighton (PL)
West Ham (PL)
Everton (PL)
