Spurs legend claims Alli back to his best

Micky Hazard believes Dele Alli is back to his best after starring in our thrashing of Southampton.

The 23-year-old was one of the best players on the pitch when Spurs completed a stunning victory over Real Madrid in the Champions League in November, however an article on talkSPORT describes how he then suffered a remarkable slump in form – frustrating fans with a series of sluggish performances and going ten games without a goal.

It was widely called thar Mauricio Pochettino shoyld ease the spotlight on the midfielder and drop him from the team, however Pochettino stuck with the young star and he duly bounced back to form in the Boxing Day win over Southampton.

The article adds how Alli scored a fine goal and bagged two assists as we beat the Saints 5-2 at Wembley, and Hazard claims the England international is back to his best after his mid-season slump.

Speaking to talkSPORT, the White Hart Lane hero said: “The team looked absolutely top drawer yesterday. The quality of football they played, the creativity, the flair, the guile But Dele Alli, for me, was absolutely sensational.

Hazard added: “His vision, his awareness of the pass and the space…I say to youngsters when I coach, ‘don’t see the man, see the space he’s running into, play the ball into the space’,Against Southampton, Dele Alli’s passing into the little spaces the forwards were running into, I thought he was sensational and back to his very best.”
