Spurs legend claims Jose Mourinho’s decision against Fulham was ‘crazy’

Graham Roberts has said on social media that Jose Mourinho’s decision not to bring Dele Alli on against Fulham was ‘crazy’.

It was yet another disappointing result for Spurs last night after they were held to a 1-1 draw by the Cottagers, which means that the North Londoners have won just one of their last six Premier League matches.

There was not a lot wrong with the home side’s first-half performance as they controlled the tempo and fashioned several great chances but they only went into the interval with a one-goal lead through Harry Kane’s diving header.

The second half took up a similar pattern to Tottenham’s recent matches as they defended deep and invited pressure on to themselves.

Fulham eventually made them pay, with Ivan Cavaleiro heading home the equaliser with around 15 minutes of normal time left on the clock.

Despite huffing and puffing in the final stages of the game and having a goal disallowed for offside, Spurs did not really look like breaking Fulham down.

Roberts was in disbelief that Mourinho did not bring on Alli when his side went in search of a winner.

I believe Mourinho made the right call bringing Lamela and Vinicius on but the fact that he did not use his third substitution was surprising. Brining Dele or Bale on in the final 10 minutes would have certainly given us a bigger goal threat.
