Spurs legend claims player will be ‘little superstar’ – Compares to Ossie Ardiles

Tottenham Hotspur legend, Graham Roberts has claimed that he thinks Bryan Gil is going to be a ‘little superstar’ in the future, while also comparing him to Ossie Ardiles.

Spurs took on Wolves for the second time this season in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday and came out on top via a penalty shootout.

Not only did young Gil impress fans during the 90 minutes, scooping up the Man of the Match vote on Twitter, but he also tucked away a penalty.

For a new player to step up third in the penalty shootout and stroke one into the very top corner at just 20 years of age, you can see why people are starting to get excited about Gil.

The winger joined Tottenham in the summer from Sevilla, with Erik Lamela moving the other way, along with a £21.6m fee (Sky Sports).

Now Roberts has claimed that Gil has ‘a little bit of Ossie Ardiles about him’, tipping him to become a ‘little superstar’ in the future for Spurs.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I have to say, I am loving what I’m seeing from Gil so far. He loves demanding the ball and making things happen. However, I don’t want to see him hyped up too much too early as I have seen that damage so many promising talents. He was good against Wolves, but let’s allow him to progress at his own pace.
