Graham Roberts has admitted his delight on hearing reports that Tottenham Hotspur could be set to offer Oliver Skipp a new contract.
Skipp has enjoyed a fantastic start to the campaign after returning from his loan spell at Norwich last season and has managed to establish himself as a regular in Nuno Espirito Santo’s starting eleven.
The Tottenham academy graduate has shown maturity beyond his years in the way he has shielded the back four alongside Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
The 21-year-old has been getting a lot of praise from pundits and ex-Tottenham players for his displays so far this campaign.
The Athletic reported at the start of the month that Spurs would like to tie Skipp down to a new contract, with the midfielder’s current deal running out in June 2024.
This claim was backed up by Football.London’s Alasdair Gold, who revealed last week that it is only a matter of time before Tottenham offer the youngster a new deal.
Roberts has now termed the update on Skipp’s contract as ‘great news’ for Spurs.
