Spurs legend claims club ‘will have money’ to spend this summer

Graham Roberts is confident that Tottenham will have money to spend this summer, despite the fact that the club still have no manager.

On the back of a disastrous campaign, Tottenham’s squad looks in need of significant strengthening if the club wish to compete with the Premier League’s best sides.

It has been well documented that the North London club’s finances have been majorly impacted by the pandemic and players have to be sold to raise money for their transfer targets.

When it seemed like Spurs were destined to appoint Conte a couple of days ago, it was alleged that Daniel Levy was prepared to back the Italian substantially in the transfer market.

However, talks between Tottenham and Conte have now collapsed, with sources indicating that the Premier League club were not able to meet the Italian’s demands of a transfer kitty of over £100m.

While Spurs might not have more than £100m to throw around, Roberts is confident that the club will invest a decent amount of money into strengthening the squad this summer.

The legendary defender told Football Fancast: “The club will have money.

“They will do things right and there’ll be a pot there for transfers. It’s whether we can get a little bit more in there to help them bring in a few.”
