Graham Roberts has reacted to Rennes’ statement following the postponement of their Europa Conference League encounter against Tottenham.
The fixture, scheduled for Thursday night, was called off after Tottenham reported a COVID-19 outbreak at the club, with eight first-team players and five of Antonio Conte’s coaching staff testing positive for the virus.
Spurs released a statement on Wednesday night revealing the match would not be played and stated the club would enter discussions with UEFA over rescheduling the fixture for a later date.
Rennes, who had arrived in London just a short while before the statement, later published a disgruntled post blasting Spurs for a ‘lack of fair play’ and making the decision not to play on their own accord.
Spurs legend and former defender Roberts later took to Twitter to voice his displeasure at the French side’s view and questioned their stance on what is a serious health situation.
Me me me me attitude what about your own players who could catch the infection? this not some small outbreak ? And what about your well wishes to Tottenham and the staff and players affected ?

Spurs Web Opinion
It does seem a bit odd that Rennes have been so keen to play what is a dead-rubber game given they have already topped the group and going through to the next stage.
You can understand their frustration having made what was an unnecessary trip to London, but the bigger picture needs to be looked at here in terms of people’s health.
