Spurs legend reveals two clubs he would like to see Joe Rodon join on loan

Former Tottenham defender Graham Roberts has revealed that he would like to see Joe Rodon join a club like Leeds United or Burnley on loan.

Rodon, 24, joined Spurs from Swansea City in October last year, but has seen opportunities in North London come at a premium.

The Wales international has made just 19 appearances for the club in all competitions with five of those coming this season, but he is yet to start in the Premier League this term.

Rodon has found himself behind the likes of Cristian Romero, Eric Dier, Ben Davies, Davinson Sanchez and even Japhet Tanganga in the pecking order, and could be pushed further down should Antonio Conte look to draft in more defenders in January.

Ex-Spurs man Roberts feels Rodon could massively benefit with a short-term move away from the club to register some important minutes under his belt.

When quizzed on his thoughts on some potential transfer destinations for Rodon, Roberts told This Is Futbol: “Leeds United, yes, maybe Burnley or somebody like that, who are powerful.

“I think it will make him grow up and make him become a better player.”

Rodon is just having a tough time breaking into the line-up. He showed he can fill in adequately last season, but unfortunately for him, there are a good few players ahead of him that are performing pretty well. He needs minutes, but Spurs are a couple of injuries away from actually needing him.
