Spurs legend slams Gary Neville – Tells him to focus on ‘shambles’ at Man Utd after Kane statement

Tottenham legend, Graham Roberts, is never one to hold back if he feels the media is being unfair in their coverage of Tottenham.

The former defender was at it once again on Monday as he blasted Gary Neville for his suggestion that Harry Kane would be a perfect signing for Manchester United.

The Spurs striker’s future has been subject to much speculation over the past few weeks with a move to Manchester United said to be on the cards for the 26-year-old (Daily Mail).

Reacting to Kane’s admission a couple of weeks ago that he would consider his future in North London if the team isn’t moving in the right direction, the former Man Utd defender implored the Red Devils to bring the England captain to Old Trafford (Sky Sports).

Roberts certainly didn’t mince his words in response as he took to social media to question why Kane would move to Manchester United when Spurs have come closer to winning major trophies in recent years.

He also accused the Sky Sports pundit of feeding baseless speculation simply to fill airtime.

Roberts posted the following series of tweets on Monday:

Spurs Web Opinion

The Kane to Man Utd for £200 million rumour is ridiculous for multiple reasons. The first one being that if Kane is to leave Spurs, he will probably want to go somewhere he’s guaranteed to win trophies. Additionally, it makes no financial sense for Spurs to sell their most valuable asset this summer, when player-values are likely to have fallen, especially given that he still has four more years left to run on his contract.
