According to the report, Redknapp will have to offload some players before launching a £28m double bid.

  1. Enrique?, what on earth have you been smokin'?, the guy is pretty awful first and foremost, and can you see Carroll leaving Newcastle or Newcastle selling him?, bullshit!

  2. The key phrase here is “According to the News of the World”.

I’m smoking something right now, but am still able to see that this site is just reporting on an article from another source. Perhaps you need to smoke something yourself – They say it’s good for glaucoma and might help your eyesight.

  3. We don’t need to strengthen our attack with Defoe back its our defence that needs to stop conceding first and our attack will flourish. Garry needs to ditch 451 and stick to 422. No Christmas Carols for Harry.

  4. I’m a huge fan of lord of the rings, and think we should sign Carroll. Never before has a talented player looked more like Aragorn. I have no other basis for this comment. Just lord of the rings.

  5. What? Where does this fee come from? For £20 million you can buy a World Class striker. Andy Carroll is not worth this fee and per usual any English player comes at an inflated cost.

As good as Carroll is playing this season he truly isn’t an improvement on what we currently have. We need a striker who is different to Crouch and Pavlyuchenko. Saying that I believe Pavlyuchenko is starting to find his true form. The hunger, the desire and now the strength to hold off defenders is there. Having Defoe is a major plus too so I don’t see the need just yet. We have a month to see how the strikers do and then we can go for the likes of Benzema, Fabiano, or Džeko. Carroll isn’t worth £20 million, £12 million yes. He should stay with Newcuntsal as they don’t have anybody better.

Remember when Carlton Cole was being touted as a £20 million buy? Exactly.

    • during the summer everyone was begging for a world class striker and now all of the sudden we don't need one? get real, we definitely need to spend big on January regardless of how well our strikers are doing cause we can't rely on Crouch's poor heading and misses and the only reason Defoe's stats looked good last season was because he scored a good percentage of his goals against Wigan in one game then disappeared for most of the season. I think we should go for Podolski on January I don't see why not since he's having a poor season with Koln and they're currently in relegation zone but he's an excellent player when he plays for Germany.

  6. Andy Caroll does have potential but twenty million is quite frankly absurd and if we did pay that I for one would be very surprised firstly at the fee paid and secondly that Newcastle would sell their future in such a way. No I think the clever money should be on us making a serious bid for Benzima and Scott Parker there could also be some other additions as I can see Keano being shifted on along with Bentley and Krancjar the latter two maybe more in the summer depending on who is available in January and for how much. How satisfying was that win on Saturday? I’m still grinning like an idiot. But we must consolidate that triffic performance against the Anfield mob on Sunday. I’ve heard it said that you’re only as good as your last whatever so that being the case our tails are up and we should not fear the task at hand but whilst confidence is good we mustn’t be over confident and think that on the display of forty five minutes of football (because in effect that’s all we really played on Saturday) we can take Liverpool. No we have to be at them right from the first whistle just like when we did them last year when they were pressed and outworked in the midfield and the supply was cut off. Their precious Stevie G is out as well so we have to back up that win against Arsenal next game up. Lillywhitetilidie.
