Tottenham have joined Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea in the race to sign striker Romelu Lukaku from Belgian club Anderlecht.

According to the Daily Mirror, Harry Redknapp is keeping tabs on the highly-rated 17-year-old, who is being compared to Didier Drogba.

The report claims that Spurs have already sounded out Anderlecht about a possible move for the striker, valued at £20million.

Real Madrid are also said to be going all out to sign him.

Lukaku’s agent Christophe Henrotay said: “Many clubs are interested and the decision is not easy. It’s necessary to find the best option and that’s not just about the financial issue.”

  1. Sounds great and all, but I would rather spend 20 million quid on a more established striker. This kid would need time to develop and get accustomed to the Premier League; even then you would hope he doesn't turn out to be a flop.

I personally don't think there is any truth to this link at this point.

  2. Oh please god yes this guy is GREAT. Play this guy on Football manager and this guy turns out great everytime. Might have something to do with this guy already being great and can go even further. This is excactly what we need

  3. I’m belgian and I can promise you that Lukaku is a big star in the belgian 1st div league. Although most belgian clubs would suffer in the English Championship, he still became the best goalscorer at the age of 16. He might not turn to be the star everyone is expecting but certainly a top striker capable valued at 20m!

However, I believe this rumor came from Anderlecht directly and they say to have rejected a 20m offer from Spurs this summer…
