Spurs-linked free agent Corentin Tolisso reveals whether PL move appeals to him

Rumoured Tottenham target Corentin Tolisso, who is now a free agent, has admitted that he would be interested in a Premier League move.

Tolisso has spent five successful seasons at Bayern since moving to the Allianz Arena from Lyon back in 2017.

However, the midfielder has endured more than his fair share of injury troubles over the last few years, which is part of the reason why he fell down the pecking order at the Bundesliga giants.

CalcioMercato previously reported that Tottenham’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici had made contact with the 27-year-old’s entourage over a potential move to North London this summer.

Bayern have confirmed that the midfielder will part ways with the Bavarian club when his contract runs out this month.

Tolisso has now stated that he has put his injury problems behind him, insisting that his issues were more mental than physical. The midfielder also declared he would be interested to experience playing in England.

He told L’Equipe: “I am convinced that [my issues] are more psychological than physical. It’s more in my head than with my body. I worked with a mental coach to put words to what I was going through.

“Now, I’m 5,000% convinced I can get back to a very high level physically. I’m going to do a one-month training period so that I’m ready for the start of next season.

“I want to go play a major role in a club. To continue winning trophies. I would be interested in England, with its intensity, but I’m not ruling out any league.

“I know what I’m capable of. I know to what point a change in my life and in my surroundings will do me good.”

I can see Conte wanting to bring Tolisso in as a squad player to replace Harry Winks. However, the Frenchman has made it clear that he wants a ‘major role’ at his next club and I doubt if he would get that Spurs. The 27-year-old’s injury record might also put Tottenham off from offering him a big contract.
