Lautaro Martinez’s agent has given another update on the future of his client this week, once again stating that the striker wants to stay at Inter Milan.
The agent also revealed he will hold a meeting with the Inter board on Wednesday to talk about the Argentine’s contract situation.
It was even confirmed that multiple Premier League clubs have shown interest in the Serie A striker, but Martinez is said to be ready to stay at Inter Milan.
This comes after The Times reported last week that Tottenham were progressing in their talks with the Italian club over the potential signing of Martinez.
The player’s agent also commented on the situation last week, claiming there would be talks over a new contract because the Argentine wanted to remain with Inter. Judging by his most recent comments, that is still the case.
It appears that we may have to wait until after the meeting on Wednesday to see how the talks between Martinez’s agent and Inter go.
He told FCInterNews this week (as relayed by Fabrizio Romano): “Lautaro wants to stay at Inter, he trusts the project and wants to win. I’ll meet with Inter board on Wednesday to talk about his contract situation. Premier League clubs wanted him but he’s ready to stay.”
Spurs Web Opinion:
This sounds like it will be too difficult to pull off unless Inter cannot match Martinez’s wage demands. Either way, it is going to take too long for it to be worth it. I would rather see Spurs move for Vlahovic this week.
