Spurs-linked striker scores seven goals in one half of pre-season friendly

Rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Dusan Vlahovic demonstrated why he is so sought-after by netting seven goals in the second half of Fiorentina’s pre-season friendly on Sunday.

Vlahovic set the Serie A alight last season, not only scoring 21 goals but also proving adept at holding up the ball and running the channels.

It was previously reported that while the young striker was also attracting interest from Atletico Madrid, AC Milan and Juventus, Spurs were at the front of the queue for his signature.

Eurosport revealed last week that the Serbian is one of the strikers on Fabio Paratici’s radar this summer as the North Londoners look to bolster their forward line.

However, the Lilywhites seemingly have their work cut out to secure the 21-year-old’s signature, with reports from Italy revealing that Fiorentina have begun negotiations with the striker over a new contract with a release clause worth around €70m (£60m).

Vlahovic is only likely to have strengthened the Serie A club’s resolve to hold on to him after his performance on Sunday.

The striker came on at half-time in Fiorentina’s second pre-season friendly of the summer against fourth-tier outfit Polisportiva C4 Foligno, with Viola leading 3-0 at the break.

The striker then astoundingly proceeded to find the back of the net seven times in an extraordinary 45 minutes, with Fiorentina eventually running out 11-0 winners.

This performance from Vlahovic does not do Tottenham any favours in their attempted pursuit of 21-year-old as Fiorentina’s asking price is likely to have gone up significantly on the back of it.
