Tottenham Hotspur are being linked once again with a move for Micah Richards.

According to The Sun, Harry Redknapp has been running the rule over a £9million switch for the defender.

The 21-year-old missed out on a place in England’s World Cup squad and is looking to get his focus back and force his way back into the international set up.

Richards can operate as a central defender or at right-back and would add some competition for Vedran Corluka.  Funds are expected to be raised from the sale of Alan Hutton, Robbie Keane and Jermaine Jenas.

  1. Richards will be brilliant 4 us. he is only 21, he can play rb or cb,he his pacy and very strong.harry type of player, let get him asap.

  2. Could be a smart move, he has lost his way at City and this could be an ideal move for him and a handy utility defender, plus another Englishman. Corluka is hardly the best right back in the world and seems Hutton will be surplus to requirements and with Walker coming through the ranks we would have good cover. Hopefully this will spell the end of Wooodgate, but not sure on Curtis Davies especially at £9m – if he is not good enough for Villa then what is the point.

  3. Micah would be a great signing for us. Fast, strong and English. A right-back who gets forward but has a greater concern for his defensive duties. Genuinely – I would rather have him than G Johnson.

He has lost his way at Man City – now is the time to pounce. While he is looking on in despair about missing the world cup.

It was not long ago he was going to be our (england) right-back for the next 10 or so years. Weren't Chelsea and Man Utd in for him. Wasn't he valued at something like 20 mill?

  4. I’ll take Corluka over Richards any day. Wouldn’t pay 9m for Richards. How can someone who looked that good a couple of years ago be so average now? 4-5m may be worth a punt in case he does get back to form

  5. If anyone can breathe some life back into Richards career is Harry. He's great with young Enlish players. This is the most exciting of al the prospective deals spoken about so far in my opinion.

  6. Richards is much more able on the ball than Corluka. He'll roam forward and support Lennon (as if he needs it) much more and can cover at centre back in the event of King's leg falling off. I'd still prefer a natural wing back to have on the right but Richards will be good cover.
