Spurs loan update: One starlet scores a goal and another registers an assist

In their weekly update on the Spurs players out on loan, Football.London have reported that Troy Parrott found the back of the net yet again over the weekend for MK Dons while Pape Matar Sarr registered an assist for Metz.

After helping Villarreal seal a place in the semi-finals of the Champions League at the expense of Bayern Munich, Giovani Lo Celso started on the bench for the Yellow Submarine against Getafe on Saturday.

The Argentine was handed 29 minutes by Unai Emery as Villarreal emerged 2-1 winners.

Tanguy Ndombele came in for plenty of criticism for his lacklustre performance in the second leg of the Europa League quarter-final against West Ham last week (GFFN).

The 25-year-old did not get an opportunity to put things right over the weekend as an injury saw him miss Lyon’s 6-1 win over Bordeaux.

Football.London reveal that Pape Matar Sarr got his first back-to-back starts in Ligue 1 for Metz since October as Frederic Antonetti’s side were held to a 1-1 draw against Clermont on Sunday.

Sarr showcased his versatility, playing in the front tip of a midfield diamond, with the teenager picking up the assist for Nicolas de Preville’s opener.

The youngster was WhoScored‘s man of the match with a rating of 7.51, which included two key passes and a shot on target, as well as three tackles and two clearances.

Cameron Carter-Vickers endured a frustrating outing in the Scottish Cup semi-final against Rangers at the weekend, with the 24-year-old ending up on the losing side after playing 120 minutes.

The centre-back hit the crossbar in regular time and earned a rating of 8/10 from the Scottish Daily Express, who wrote about his display: “Another solid performance from the centre-half, was inches away from scoring the second goal after his effort smacked the bar which could have ended the game.”

Meanwhile, Troy Parrott found the back of the net yet again for MK Dons over the weekend to make it six goals in eight matches for club and country.

However, the goal did not prevent Liam Manning’s side from falling to a 3-2 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday at Stadium MK.

Parrott seems to be growing in confidence with every game and looks like he is set for a strong finish to the season. The youngster has a great opportunity to make a good impression on Antonio Conte and his coaching staff during pre-season. At the very least, he looks ready to make a step up to the Championship next campaign.
