Spurs lodge £25m bid for Aston Villa midfielder

Tottenham Hotspur have made a £25m bid for Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish, according to Sky Sports News.

Villa boss, Steve Bruce admitted the two clubs were in talks over the potential transfer of the 22-year-old but the Championship side would not let him go ‘on the cheap’.

It was reported earlier Grealish would travel to London ahead of a medical with a ‘top London club’ according to talkSPORT’s Ian Abrahams.

Grealish featured in Villa’s 3-1 victory over Hull City on Monday night and left the pitch to a standing ovation from the Clarets’ fans.

After the game, Bruce admitted it would be ‘difficult’ to keep hold of the youngster with such a big club after his services.

Spurs have been heavily linked with the Birmingham-born midfielder for the entirety of the summer transfer window but a move stagnated after Villa were taken over and released from their financial issues.

Now, with less than two days left until the transfer window slams shut it finally looks like Spurs are making a serious move to acquire their first signing.
