Spurs look to line up Alderweireld replacement

Tottenham became the first Premier League club ever not to sign a single new player in the summer transfer window this year.

However, the club did hang on to its biggest names, despite rumours that Alderweireld, Dembele and Rose would all be out the door.

Toby Alderweireld currently has one year left on his contract, and will likely be sold for £25m in the summer as per a clause in the deal, unless Spurs persuade him to sign a new one.

The Mirror are now reporting that Spurs are lining up a new centre back signing, with HITC arguing that Alderweireld’s replacement is already at the club.

The Mirror say Spurs are interested in signing the highly-rated 20-year-old centre back Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina.

HITC say Davinson Sanchez will likely make the step up to replace the experience of Alderweireld, like Milenkovic slotting in as the new youngster in the defensive ranks.

If Tottenham can get those two working as a cohesive unit, they could have a decade-long world class partnership.
