Spurs man claims teammate has tried to fight him multiple times in training

Juan Foyth, who is currently out on loan to Spanish club Villareal, has claimed that Erik Lamela has offered to fight him on more than one occasion in training.

The central defender revealed that Lamela is always looking for a scrap when he gets angry and has offered to fight multiple teammates in the heat of the moment.

Lamela recently took things too far on the pitch for Tottenham, seeing red in the North London Derby after he had initially put his side 1-0 up with an incredible rabona finish.

Despite this, the Argentine has been a popular figure with Jose Mourinho this season, playing a total of 30 games across all competitions which is pretty impressive for someone with his injury record.

However, in his 18 Premier League appearances this season, Lamela has racked up four yellow cards and one red card in a Lilywhite shirt (TransferMarkt).

It appears that this fighting spirit is something that the attacker takes into training among his own friends and teammates too.

Foyth said (90 Min): “Apart from the fact that Coco [Lamela] goes looking for it. Do you know how up for it he is? Forget about it.

“[He is] very hard. When he gets angry, he goes looking for it like crazy. He has offered to fight me a couple of times! Obviously in training and that, heat of the moment, I’m not the only one.”

“Off the pitch yeah, we have a great relationship, we’re friends.”
