‘Spurs man for the rest of my life’ – What Hugo Lloris told fans at half-time

Hugo Lloris delivered an emotional goodbye message to fans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, admitting that he will be a ‘Spurs man’ until his final breath.

Lloris will not only go down as the best goalkeeper Tottenham have had in their modern history but also one of the biggest legends the club have had in the Premier League era.

The Frenchman spent eleven and a half years at the North London club after arriving from Lyon back in 2012, being captain for the vast majority of that time.

The 36-year-old will now see out the final years of his professional career in Major League Soccer side Los Angeles FC, and he addressed the Spurs faithful one final time at half-time against Bournemouth before jetting off to the United States.

Hugo Lloris bids an emotional farewell to Spurs

Lloris, who witnessed the club evolve and grow into a mammoth during his time in N17, admitted that he thoroughly enjoyed the journey and thanked the fans for their unwavering support over the years.

He said (via Football.London): “It’s fair to say time has run so fast. I enjoy every moment, the good moments, the bad moments, when you face difficulties, sticking together as a club, you can see the evolution is very positive. For sure, the future will be bright for Spurs.”

When asked about the support from the fans, he said: “It was already the case in the old stadium, but now with 62,000, it’s even more. You make the club even more special. That’s why I’m grateful to fans for all the support I received during my career.

“It’s time for me to say goodbye but it’s goodbye from the player not from the man. I will be a Spurs man for the rest of my life.”
