Journalist Rudy Galetti has said that Tottenham could turn their attention to Wolves’ Max Kilman or Galatasaray’s Victor Nelsson if they are not able to get a deal for Clement Lenglet over the line soon.
Signing a left-sided centre-back is seemingly a priority for Tottenham, with the North London club being linked with several players who occupy that role over recent weeks.
This includes the likes of Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Taposoba and Wolfsburg’s Micky van de Ven (Fabrizio Romano) as well as Premier League stars such as Manchester United’s Harry Maguire (Daily Mail) and Manchester City’s Ayemirc Laporte (The Times).
Meanwhile, reports from Spain continue to suggest that Tottenham are keen on completing a permanent deal for Lenglet, with Sport claiming last week that Spurs are making progress in their talks with Barcelona and are hopeful of concluding the deal by the end of next month (Sport).
Additionally, 90 min claimed a couple of weeks ago that Kilman is also on the club’s radar while reports from Turkey have suggested that Ange Postecoglou’s men have made an approach to sign Nelsson (Hurriyet).
Kilman and Nelsson could be Lenglet alternatives
Galetti has now backed up Spurs’ interest in the Englishman and the Dane, stating that the Wolves and the Galatasaray stars could become options if Barca drag their feet on the Lenglet deal.
The journalist told GiveMeSport: “Either the negotiations [for Lenglet] will end quite soon or Spurs could decide to explore other names. For example, Kilman from Wolves or Nelsson from Galatasaray.”

Tottenham have seemingly identified quite a lot of options for the left centre-back role but it does appear as if Taposoba is now their top target.
I suspect a move for Lenglet is independent of the pursuit of the Burkina Faso international, with Postecoglou potentially viewing the Frenchman as a cover for the left centre-back role.
