Jamie Donley believes that his Under-21s teammate Will Lankshear is ready to make his senior debut for Tottenham Hotspur.
While Donley has been rewarded for his impressive showing in Premier League 2 this season with four first-team appearances as a substitute, Lankshear is still waiting for his opportunity.
The striker will think that he cannot do anymore in youth football to knock the door down, having scored 13 times in 14 matches across all competitions for Wayne Burnett’s men so far this season.
Football.London’s Alasdair Gold revealed recently that several clubs in England as well as across Europe wanted to sign the 18-year-old on loan during the January window.
However, he explained that Tottenham rejected those advances as they wanted him to gain experience training with the first team. Gold further added that Ange Postecoglou and his coaching staff have taken a real liking to the centre-forward.

Jamie Donley tips Will Lankshear for the top
Donley, who has combined with Lankshear for several goals this season, believes that his Under-21 teammate will deliver if given a chance.
When asked if the striker can cut it at the highest level, the attacking midfielder told Football London: “Yes, definitely. He’s got a great attitude and he’s a great lad. He just keeps scoring goals and he’s doing really well.
“I was doing really well and I got my chance so he’s just got to keep his head down, working hard and I think he’s definitely good enough so he’ll get a chance hopefully.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Tottenham might look to loan both Lankshear and Donley to a League One or a Championship side in the summer. The midfielder and the striker both look ready to play senior competitive football and they will learn a lot from a stint in the EFL.
