Spurs miss out on Dutch target as Roma close in

According to talkSPORT Serie A side Roma are close to sealing a £17.5million deal for Tottenham Hotspur target Justin Kluivert.

The winger has rejected a new contract offer from Ajax and with just one year remaining on his present deal with the Dutch giants the club have decided to cash in on the youngster

The article goes on to describe how Tottenham have been tracking the 19-year-old for over a year now and enquired about him when they signed Davinson Sanchez last August, but Roma, however, have since overtaken Spurs in the race for Kluivert and – according to Mediaset Premium – they are on the cusp of signing him.

Roma will pay £17.5m for the Dutchman, while they have also offered a bonus which could total around £4m and Ajax will receive too a percentage of any future fee Roma receive for Kluivert should they sell him.

The son of Ajax legend Patrick has agreed a five-year deal worth £25,000-a-week and he will undergo his medical in the coming days.
