Spurs missed out on £13m for Dos Santos

Giovani Dos Santos - Tottenham Hotspur News

Harry Redknapp has confirmed that Giovani dos Santos rejected the opportunity to join Udinese in the summer as he was holding out for a move to Sevilla.

Dos Santos recently revealed he was disappointed and angry that he failed to secure a switch to Sevilla, but appeared as a late substitute in the victory at Wolves.

“Gio wanted to move but we couldn’t let him go,” said Redknapp.

“We had a £13m offer from Udinese with £10m down and the rest in do-able bonuses with a big sell-on, but he wouldn’t go.

“He wanted to go to Seville who were offering around £3m. You can’t blame the chairman for not letting him go. Gio is a talent with a big part to play.

“Only him and Luka are here now out of the lads who wanted to leave.”

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. To Spurs Malaysia – Modric too good for Spurs? – maybe if he had scored more than two goals from central midfield Spurs would had qualified for the CL again – if he signed a 5 year contract he should honour it – clubs have to.
As for Dos Santos – if Spurs were 'killing his career' why didn't he move to Udinese – he can't be that bothered about his career.

  2. The one you talk about whose career was being killed was that anything to do with the fact he never came to training and liked to party a lot.If you look at other players there you will see those that train do get a chance.

    • Partied a lot? Are u sure? THere was one article about him partying and suddenly he has no discipline and a party animal? Rubbish! Everyone makes a mistake.
