Spurs monitor star striker as possible Kane back up

Tottenham Hotspur have been in need of a young, hungry and prolific striker to act as a back up to Harry Kane for a number of years now.

The likes of Roberto Soldado, Vincent Janssen, and Fernando Llorente never really hit the ground running in North London.

The problem with signing a high profile striker for Spurs is that they know the best they will ever be is second choice.

With Harry Kane in front of you, game time is always going to be limited, especially when very few teams play two up top anymore.

However, according to Spanish news outlet El Pais, Tottenham are monitoring Celta Vigo star Maxi Gomez.

The 22-year-old was electric in his first season at the club, scoring a whopping 17 goals.

He has followed up this season by continuing his fine form, netting six times already in only ten games.

He is nicknamed the bull, but could he have the tenacity to make it at Spurs and in the Premier League?
