Spurs name Harry Kane in squad for upcoming matches; two left out

Nuno Espirito Santo has left both Tanguy Ndombele and Serge Aurier out of Tottenham’s squad for their upcoming Europa Conference League tie against Pacos de Ferreira, with the first leg taking place on Thursday.

Ndombele did not feature in any of Tottenham’s five pre-season games and the midfielder did not make the matchday squad for the club’s season-opener yesterday against Manchester City.

Nuno Espirito Santo has not given any specifics on the Frenchman’s absence, insisting simply that “it is not yet the moment” for the 24-year-old.

Reports indicate that Tottenham are open to cashing on on the former Lyon man if they receive a suitable offer.

Aurier, who is now into the final 12 months of his contract at Spurs, is also expected to leave the club before the end of the month.

It now looks like Nuno has potentially given a big hint over the futures of both players by excluding them from Tottenham’s 25-man squad for their Europa Conference League play-off tie away at Portuguese side Pacos de Ferreira.

Spurs’ squad for both legs has been published on UEFA’s website and while Harry Kane’s name is included, neither Ndombele nor Aurier have been listed.

Kane was not part of the side which beat City in North London yesterday, but with his homegrown status is included for the double header against the Portuguese.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is fairly evident that Aurier is going to leave before the end of the month. While I would have no issues if the club decided to cash in on Ndombele, I cannot see us getting a suitable offer for the Frenchman this summer. The midfielder’s wages would also be a big issue for any club that might be interested in him.
