“Spurs only want to sell” – Agent reveals frustration at how Spurs have treated player

Tottenham have been left severely short of attacking options in recent games with Harry Kane and Dele Alli out with injuries, and Son Heung-Min participating in the Asia Cup.

Despite being short of attacking players, Mauricio Pochettino has opted not to name Vincent Janssen even on the bench.

The Argentine has confirmed that Janssen has no way back into the first team and that it would be in the best interests of both the player and the club for him to move on.

The 24-year-old signed for Spurs from AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2016 and failed to make an impact in front of goal at White Hart Lane.

Janssen’s agent Patrick van Diemen admitted that Tottenham have already made up their minds about the striker and the club is only looking to get rid of him on a permanent basis.

He also revealed his frustration about potential deals falling through despite Janssen attracting the interest of several clubs.

Speaking to Dutch publication Omroep Brabant, Van Diemen said: “They only want to sell Janssen, because he is no longer in the plans of the club. Clubs do come forward, but it doesn’t actually become concrete. The most important thing now is that Janssen will play again.”
