Pierluigi Gollini has revealed that he invited Dejan Kulusevski over to his house after the Sweden international completed his formalities at Hotspur Way.
Tottenham confirmed their capture of Kulusevski from Juventus on transfer deadline day. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Swede has signed on an 18-month loan deal for which Spurs will pay a fee of €10m (£8.4m).
The North London club have an option to buy the 21-year-old for an additional €35m (£29.6m) this summer, which will increase to €40m (£33.8m) in the summer of 2023.
The option to buy will become an obligation this summer should Spurs qualify for the Champions League or if the winger starts 15 matches this season.
Kulusevski’s words in his first interview with the club’s official website would have been music to Antonio Conte’s ears, with the former Juve man admitting his keenness to work hard for the team and combine well with his new teammates.
Tottenham also released a behind-the-scenes video of Kulusevski’s first day at Hotspur Way on Spurs TV, and in that the new signing is seen greeting Gollini, who was formally his teammate at Atalanta.
The Tottenham goalkeeper is heard saying in the video: “I told him he can come to my house so he is not alone.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Gollini has not quite turned out to be the goalkeeper we hoped he would be but the Italian is certainly a lovable character.
Like Joe Hart before him, he seems very good for dressing room morale, which is what clubs look for in their number two.
Unfortunately, that in itself is unlikely to be enough to convince the club to take the option to sign him permanently.
