Spurs player expresses his delight social media after signing new contract

Tottenham Hotspur announced yesterday that Brandon Austin had signed a new contract.

The 20-year-old put pen to paper on a contract which will keep him with the Champions League finalists until 2022.

Austin, who came up through the academy ranks at Spurs took to Twitter last night to express his delight whilst thanking those who had made it possible.

The goalkeeper has found himself on the bench five times for Tottenham this season (transfermarkt) whilst acting as an understudy for Paulo Gazzaniga, who in turn has stepped up to fill the void left by the injured Hugo Lloris.

Despite having yet to make his debut for Tottenham, Austin has been called up to the England Under 21 squad on two occasions in October and November.

He has found himself at times ahead of fellow academy graduate Alfie Whiteman in the goalkeeping pecking order, with Whiteman having only provided cover in the top flight on three occasions (transfermarkt).
