Spurs player is ‘sure’ to join club if they get promoted to the Premier League – Journalist

Journalist Pete O’Rourke is confident that Joe Rodon will seal a permanent move to Leeds United if they win promotion to the Premier League this summer.

Rodon is having an outstanding season at Elland Road, having formed a fantastic partnership at the back with his compatriot Ethan Ampadu.

The centre-back’s displays have allegedly altered a number of top-flight sides, with various publications reporting over the last month that Leeds would have to compete with several Premier League clubs for the 26-year-old this summer (TEAMtalk).

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold also confirmed last week that Rodon’s four-year stay at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will come to an end this summer.

However, he too suggested that Leeds might face plenty of competition for the defender, remarking that Spurs will be hoping that a bidding war ensues for the former Swansea man.

However, O’Rourke believes that Rodon is certain to join Daniel Farke’s side if they manage to bounce straight back up.

The journalist told Football Insider: “Joe Rodon has done really well at Leeds United and I’m sure he will now move on in a permanent deal if they go up. Spurs are going to be busy in the transfer window, but they’re going to have to balance the books as well and that means players leaving.”

Rodon is in a powerful position since he has just a year left on his contract at Spurs and he will thus have a huge say on his next destination. The centre-back evidently feels at home at Leeds, which is why he will likely insist on moving to Elland Road if Farke’s men do win promotion.
