Mousa Dembele has rejected a £20m move to Serie A side Inter Milan, according to The Daily Mail.

The 31-year-old midfielder is set to see out the final year in his contract with the north London side.

Dembele has been heavily linked with a move away from Spurs, with the main interest coming from China.

However, the Chinese Super League’s transfer window has closed meaning a mega-money move to China is off the cards for this summer.

Although Inter have already sealed the signature of Dembele’s fellow Belgian Radja Nainggolan it was not enough to tempt the Spur away from north London.

The Lilywhites experienced a midfield injury crisis in their pre-season tour of the USA after Moussa Dembele, Erik Lamela and Victor Wanyama all suffered from injuries.

Therefore, Dembele could return straight away back into Mauricio Pochettino’s side which opens Tottenham’s Premier League campaign against Newcastle United.

But Poch may not be willing to risk Dembele so soon, with Luke Amos and Oliver Skipp impressing so much throughout the USA tour.

Tottenham fans, are you happy that Dembele may be staying for another season despite his injury problems?

  1. NO – Dembele made it clear that he wanted-out from Spurs, but because he for some reason didn’t get the big money small effort move to China that he wanted, he’s going to take it out on Spurs by running down his contract, and leaving on a free next summer (after spending most of the intervening period in the treatment room, as usual). He’s certainly proving how much he ‘loves’ the club, and yet he’s still a hero to some deluded fools – Adebayor Mk2 more like.

  2. When did he make it CLEAR he wanted out of from Spurs did he tell you that ?? All Dembele said was he would wait until after the world cup to decide. We are extremely lucky that he has stayed and I imagine he was convinced to stay by Poch and others, given our current situation. If he can stay fit and play well they may well have dangled a carrot based on performance He made one comment about China simply saying they were paying a lot of money and did not begrudge some guys for taking it. He never said he wanted to go there. Like most players though if they came in with a huge wage for him I am sure he would be tempted and might go. SOOO Happy he is back!! Great News!!
