Spurs player reminds fans he is unavailable to face Inter Milan

Juan Foyth has reminded Tottenham Hotspur fans that he will not be available for Wednesday night’s Champions League clash against Inter Milan.

The Italian giants are the visitors to Wembley in a crucial match where only a victory will suffice to realistically keep alive their outside hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages of the competition.

One man who will not be lining up in the Spurs side for the match will be Juan Foyth, the young Argentine was among those who were left out of Mauricio Pochettino’s 22-man “A-list” squad for European competition.

He joined the likes of Georges-Kevin NKoudou and Vincent Janssen in not being included in the squad for the group stage. However, he could be added back into the squad in the event that Spurs advance out of their group.

Foyth has impressed in recent weeks in the heart of the Spurs defence, having scored the match winner against Crystal Palace.

Despite the fact he will not feature against Inter, Foyth insists that he has full faith in whoever lines up at the back. Jan Vertonghen was named as an unused substitute in the 3-1 win against Chelsea after recently recovering from a hamstring injury and would be the most likely to partner Toby Alderweireld.

He told ESPN: “I can’t play against Inter Milan [on Wednesday] because I’m not in the Champions League list and then, against Arsenal, the manager will decide who to play,”

He added: “Whatever [he decides] I’ll always support the team and try to give my best if I play.

“I am grateful to Pochettino for the opportunity to be playing these games. Thank God we could win these last three.

“We’re good teammates [among the centre-backs]. We give advice among us and try to learn from each other. They’re great people before players and I’m also happy with that.”
