Spurs player ruled out of match against Crystal Palace on Wednesday

Tottenham Hotspur will be without the services of Yves Bissouma for Wednesday night’s trip to Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

The midfielder picked up his fifth booking of the campaign during the match against Aston Villa earlier today when he laboured to get back and made a late lunge to concede a foul.

Spurs boss Antonio Conte had started with a midfield pairing of Bissouma and Hojbjerg for the north Londoners’ last two top-flight matches with Rodrigo Bentancur currently sidelined due to an injury issue he sustained during Uruguay’s World Cup campaign which saw him tear an adductor muscle in their 2-0 group stage win over Ghana (El Pais).

Bissouma’s absence may spark a recall to the starting eleven for academy graduate Oliver Skipp, who was named among the subs against Villa alongside Pape Matar Sarr.

SpursWeb Opinion

Tottenham’s options from the bench against Villa highlighted exactly how weak the rest of the squad is when some key players are missing for selection.  With respect, a bench of Dier, Sanchez, Tanganga, Sessegnon, Royal, Skipp and Sarr is hardly likely to strike fear into any top six team.
