Spurs player sets new record at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Giovani Lo Celso’s goal in the FA Cup third round replay against Middlesbrough on Tuesday evening is the quickest goal to have been scored at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium so far, the club have confirmed.

Spurs moved into their state of the art new home back in April of last year and have been involved in several high profile Premier League and Champions League games since moving back to North London..

Tuesday’s clash against Middlesbrough was the first FA Cup tie to be held at Tottenham’s new home and the home side certainly put on a show for the fans in the first half.

Lo Celso broke Spurs’ deadlock on the night with less than two minutes on the clock as he finished smartly after intercepting a poor pass from the Boro keeper.

The Argentine now officially holds the record for the quickest goal at the stadium and it could be a while before anyone manages to beat him.

Apart from his goal, I thought Lo Celso was a constant threat to the Boro backline all game and was involved in some lovely combination play with the likes of Eriksen and Lamela. He seems to be slowly but surely getting used the league as well as his teammates which is an encouraging sign. The Argentine is clearly not afraid to take risks and we could do with a player like him in our midfield as we currently have too many players who play it safe.
