Whenever Tottenham Hotspur make a signing, it isn’t too long before YouTube compilations of the players are popping up on numerous Spurs forums which make Lionel Messi look like a pub footballer in comparison.

Some players have arrived at the Lane with a big reputation and flopped. Here’s our selection of players who failed to live up to expectation in N17.

  1. Of those gilberto was the worst the others atleast contributed something at some point.You can only truly sum up how bad he was when you realise that would actually rather of had timothy atouba instead of gilberto shocking signing

  2. I would like to disagree regarding Giovani Dos Santos. I am not entirely sure if ‘arry had issues with this delightful talent that I have personally always admired. For a player that was brought up from Barca academy and started and contributed to all Mexico’s matches in the 2010 WC I was surprised at the very few times he got the chance to show us what he’s capable of. He might have not inspired at training or had personal issues. I would definitely take him off this list and was so sad to have seen him go. COYS!

  3. Emmanuel Adebayor in my view played brilliant when on loan got himself a contract and just done nothing since. If I recall he did the same for the Gooners . The sooner we sell him at the end of the season the better.
