Spurs receive boost in pursuit of top four spot

Tottenham Hotspur shot themselves in the foot yet again yesterday as they gifted a 2-1 victory to Southampton in the Premier League.

Spurs had been 1-0 up at half time, and in truth, should have been up by three or four by this point.

However, the side came out in the second half with the wrong attitude, acting as if the match was won, which gave the Saints a route back.

Despite dropping all three points again in the League, Spurs fans still would have been hopeful that some of their top four rivals would do the same.

Chelsea could have gone above Spurs if they won both games in hand on the North London club, however they only managed a draw at home to Wolves this afternoon.

This means even a win in their next game would leave them a point short of Spurs.

At least one of Man United and Arsenal are guaranteed to drop points today too as the two teams face off at the Emirates.

So, if Spurs can start winning games again, it may not be all doom and gloom.
