Spurs receive fitness boost after injured World Cup player is spotted in training

Tottenham Hotspur may have received an apparent injury boost after Ben Davies was spotted taking part in training with the rest of Antonio Conte’s first team earlier this week.

Football.London reported last week that the central defender was a doubt for Tottenham’s first game back in the Premier League on Boxing Day at Brentford after sustaining a painful oblique injury at the World Cup and could be out of action for around a month.

Davies had to be replaced during the first half of Wales’ final match of their World Cup campaign against England after picking up a muscular issue in his abdominal area.

The 29-year-old was seen taking part in a rondo session during training at a snowy Hotspur Way earlier this week in YouTube footage released by the club’s official channel (1:20).

Davies had been in impressive form prior to the World Cup and also contributed at the other end of the pitch with important goals against both Bournemouth and Leeds United.

Fixtures are set to come thick and fast for Conte’s men when the campaign resumes and the Italian will certainly want as many players as possible at his disposal as he looks to compete in the Premier League, Champions League and the FA Cup.
