Spurs reportedly interested in signing the ‘next Luis Suarez’

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez, according to Spanish source AS.

The 21-year-old striker was apart of the Uruguay squad which featured in the Russia World Cup but did not feature heavily with Luis Suarez and Edison Cavani being the main men.

Tottenham’s London rivals, West Ham have also been linked with signing the youngster who has been tipped to be the new Luis Suarez.

Gomez has netted 17 times in La Liga in his 35 appearances for Celta which has meant the Spanish club have put a £35m price tag on the highly-rated striker.

Many Spurs fans were hoping for a backup striker to be brought in this summer after a below-par season from Fernando Llorente.

However, Llorente seems determined to prove his worth with Spurs despite only managing one goal in his 16 league appearances last campaign.

Would you like to see Mauricio Pochettino bring in the ‘next Luis Suarez’, Spurs fans?
