Spurs reportedly make contact with rivals for promising young star

According to Bleacher Report, Tottenham Hotspur have made contact with bitter rivals West Ham United over the services of one young Declan Rice.

The 19-year-old broke into the Hammers first team a couple of seasons ago and has impressed ever since.

The versatile defensive-minded man can play at either centre back or central midfield, much like Tottenham’s Eric Dier.

After failing to sign a single player in the summer transfer window, Poch will be keen to bring in some new faces to help secure Champions League football next season in their new stadium.

With the likes of Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen well into the last year of their respective contracts, Spurs may need to bolster the centre back position.

The only other central defenders at the club currently are Davinson Sanchez and Juan Foyth, with Dier able to cover and Carter-Vickers out on loan.

Spurs have reportedly been interested in Declan Rice for a number of months now (HITC).
