Spurs reveal plans of support for Ukraine prior to Everton match

Tottenham Hotspur have revealed their plans to deliver a message of peace in support of Ukraine ahead of Monday night’s Premier League clash against Everton.

The match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will see the local Haringey Vox Choir perform a song that was originally recorded by US reggae artist, Matisyahu called ‘One Day’ shorltly before the teams take to the pitch with the vocals expressing the hope for an end to violence and a prayer for a new era of peace.

Chinese Premier League rights holders have already decided not to televise this round English top flight fixtures in China, who are a close political ally of Russia. The decision comes as a result of the planned displays of support for Ukraine as a result of Vladimir Putin’s actions in invading the country, displacing millions of people (BBC).

Hugo Lloris will be among the twenty club captains will wear special armbands in Ukrainian colours and supporters are encouraged to join players, managers, match officials and club staff in a moment of reflection and solidarity before kick-off (Premier League).

Players will warm up in t-shirts calling for peace and displaying the clear message ‘Football Stands Together’.
