Spurs right-back reveals that multiple players within the academy support Arsenal

There are very few rivalries as fierce and as historic in English football as the feud between Tottenham and Arsenal in North London.

The North London derby is not only one of the biggest games in the footballing calendar, but it always seems to live up to the hype in terms of entertainment.

While the red half of North London enjoyed the upper hand for the majority of the Premier League era, the Lilywhites have finished above their neighbours for the last three seasons.

Needless to say, there is no love lost between both sets of fans, and some Spurs supporters will certainly not like what Tottenham youngster, Jubril Okedina, admitted this week.

The young right-back, who has shone for the club’s U-23 side this season, has admitted that multiple players within the Tottenham academy set-up support Arsenal.

Okedina was asked on his personal Instagram by a Spurs fan whether anybody within the club’s academy is a fan of Tottenham’s fiercest rivals.

The defender responded: “There’s a couple you know, not going to name names.”

Okedina certainly did the right thing by hiding the players’ identities as they would have had a barrage of abuse from Spurs fans on social media. In fairness, given the geographical proximity of both clubs, it is obvious that we will be vying for youngsters from the same area when it comes to the academy set up. So, there are likely a few Spurs fans in the Arsenal academy as well.
