With over a million positive cases and almost 75,000 fatalities across the globe, COVID-19 is turning out to be one of the greatest tests humanity has faced for some time (worldometers.info).
While the United States has proved to be the worst-hit nation so far, the situation in Spain is also getting drastic with the Spanish government facing an uphill battle to slow down the virus’ spread.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has also suffered grief as a result of the virus when his mother Dolors Sala Carrio passed away aged 82 in Manresa, Barcelona.
City released a statement on social media confirming Carrio’s passing and conveyed their condolences to Pep.
Numerous people across the footballing fraternity have also sent their well-wishes to the former midfielder (Daily Mail).
Tottenham gave also sent a heartfelt message to Guardiola over the tragic incident. The North London club posted the following message in response to Manchester City’s Tweet:
