Spurs set to be without established first team regular for Barcelona match

Tottenham Hotspur will be without central defender Jan Vertonghen for tomorrow night’s Champions League clash against Barcelona, according to the Daily Mail.

The Belgian international tweaked his hamstring during the first half of Saturday’s 2-0 Premier League win at Huddersfield Town and had to be replaced at half time by Harry Winks.

Vertonghen becomes the second Spurs player to suffer a hamstring strain in a matter of a week after Dele Alli suffered a recurrence of his injury following the Carabao Cup penalty shoot-out victory against Watford at Stadium MK.

It remains to be seen whether Hugo Lloris and Christian Eriksen will be fit in time after their respective injuries, while Serge Aurier is definitely out after he picked up a thigh problem while attempting to cross the ball against Watford.

Mousa Dembele is also an injury doubt.
