Spurs set to extend Wembley stay even further

According to a report by The Times, Tottenham Hotspur are set to extend their Wembley stay by two further games.

Daniel Levy has already agreed for Tottenham to be able to use the national ground until December 15.

However, currently the upcoming fixtures against Chelsea and Southampton in late November/early December are scheduled to be played at the new ground.

This is expected to be switched to Wembley, as Spurs must tell the FA before Thursday whether they would like to take up such an option.

Either way, Spurs fans should be provided with some clarity well before the games are played.

Even if the fixtures are moved, the new 62,000 seat ground simply cannot be far away from completion, and what a day it will be when it finally opens.

Something that may have gone underappreciated is the fact that Tottenham have been able to play so many big games at the iconic ground of Wembley.

Although there is a tinge of frustration at the moment regarding the new ground, I think fans will look back on the past 18 months with a sense of fondness in the future.
